Author: Without screwing up my credit rating? I see so many commercials for credit/debt consolidations.
HI! You should check out the company I went with. they were great–my credit score is better then before. I paid my debts in full–just at a lower interest rate and payment. I also had just one payment per month. I still received my statements showing that the payments were made and they also helped me with my budget

And most of them will screw up your credit. They want their fees up front and one of the favorite ways to "negotiate" with your creditors is to not pay for several months then threaten bankruptcy.
If you really need help, check this site: http://www.nfcc.org/ . Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) is a non-profit company that offers free counseling service.
You can do it your self by making a strict budget. Put every penny you can squeeze out of that budget on the highest interest rate debt, while making minimum payments on the rest. When the highest is paid off, move to the next till they are all paid off.
If you work at it, you could have all your debts paid off in 2 or 3 years.

Don’t use any of those things you see on TV. They aren’t free. You pay a fee for their services. Find a credit card with 0% interest or at least one with a lower % than what you are paying now.
